Everyone will be provided with a workspace, and there will be an A3 scanner, printer, Wi-Fi, a communal kitchen and (of course) toilet facilities available. The artists in residence will occasionally be joined by international residents to promote intercultural exchange and enrich the creative dynamic of the project.
AIMWe have set up this studio to provide a working environment tailored to the professional needs and expectations of comic book authors. As the creative profession can sometimes be a solitary one, the Comic Art Museum aims to create a genuine creative hub through this shared studio. In this way, authors are encouraged to work side by side and share their experiences, working methods and different perspectives with one another.PRACTICAL INFORMATIONAnyone can apply for this opportunity.
Sunday 15 February is going to be a delightful day at the Comic Art Museum, because we will be receiving a distinguished visitor: Wauter Mannaert, a Brussels-based comic book artist who currently has his own exhibition at our museum, will be dropping by for a special reading and signing session!
With “De queeste” (The Quest), Wauter Mannaert has created an exciting and funny trilogy about Pelli's search for the “beast”. The series updates the legend of King Arthur, but also tackles recognisable topics that you would expect to find in a youth comic in 2026: teenagers' relationships with their parents, ecology, emancipation.
The third and final part of “De queeste” has recently hit the shops, and we are celebrating this with a reading session and a book signing. You can also find out all about Wauter and his work in our exhibition “De Natuur van Wauter Mannaert” (The Nature of Wauter Mannaert). Extra fun? There is also an activity booklet to really go on a quest in the exhibition. In short, all the ingredients are there for a fun afternoon during the spring half-term holidays.

Schedule:

Reading session (NL) from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Reading session (French) from 3.45 p.m. to 4.15 p.m.
Signing session from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Free with a musuemticket, but registration is required. You can register here.
